Who can participate?
Babies, toddlers, preschoolers, children, teens, adults — everyone!  Children too young to read by themselves are welcome to participate by having a parent or caretaker sign them up and read to them.

Can I count books that I read on my computer or e-reader?
Of course! It’s all the same to us.

Can I count time that I spend reading to my kids?
For sure! We love when you read to your kids!

Can I count audiobooks?
You bet!

Can I count the time that I spend reading a book even if I don’t finish it?
Absolutely! Ten minutes is ten minutes.

Can I join the program after its official start date?
You bet! And if you can remember any reading that you’ve done after the official start date, you’re welcome to go back and count that.

Can I count reading that I’ve done before the official start date?
Actually, we do ask that you count only reading you’ve done within the official dates of the program.

Where are my kids’ accounts?

When you signed up for the program, you probably signed your children up at the same time. To find your kids’ accounts, click the “Accounts” tab on your homepage. This will tell you the usernames. If your child isn’t listed there, you’ll want to add a new account by following the procedure in the next question.

How do I add family members?

Good news! We heard your requests for an easier method of adding family members to your account and we’ve updated our software. If you’d like to add family members to your account, please follow the simple steps below.

  • From your main page, click “My Account” in the menu bar.
  • At the bottom of your account information, click “Add Child Account.”
  • Enter the child’s information and click “Submit.”
  • To manage these accounts, click “Family Members.”

If you have already created your children’s accounts, create an account for yourself and send a message to staff through notification asking them to link everyone’s account. Include everyone’s username when sending your message

I accidentally logged too many minutes! What can I do?

Just go to your “Notifications” section and send us a message letting us know. We’ll take care of it for you. You’ll receive a message when it’s done.

I sent you a message, but I haven’t gotten a response. When will I hear back from you?

We try to respond to every notification within 48 hours. Sometimes we receive a high volume of messages, so it may take a bit longer. We do try to read and respond to everything we receive. If you have a matter that requires urgent attention, contact your local library.

What are the requirements for a book review?

The book review must contain at least two complete sentences.

How do I claim the prizes I have won on READsquared?

Prizes will be automatically sent to the Lincoln County Public Libraries' branch you selected at registration but can ask to have it sent to a different location. Prizes can NOT be mailed. You must pick them up at a Lincoln County Public Libraries location.
